1,067 vehicles torched during New Year in France !!

A total of 1,067 vehicles were torched in France during the night of New Year's Eve , a figure down 10.6 % compared to last year , announced Wednesday the Minister of the Interior , Manuel Valls .

During a press conference intended to establish the safety record of the night of New Year's Eve , Manuel Valls said that during the New Year's Eve last year , 1,193 vehicles were burned. The first eleven months of the year , this figure is down more than 6 % over the same period last year, it was bliss . The department of metropolitan France hardest hit this year was the Seine -Saint- Denis with 80 vehicles torched.

The minister returned to the various attacks with knives occurred in the night: a young killed by a stab at the Trocadero , a father stabbed in Alsace and thirty killed with knives in Grenoble , probably during a brawl . Manuel Valls said that one of the attackers was arrested and provided " no effort will be spared to ensure that [other] perpetrators of these cowardly and hateful acts are found ."

53,000 police and gendarmes were mobilized throughout the country during the New Year festivities , five were injured in urban violence , the minister added . He also noted that there had been " 322 arrests , 217 of which required a custody "
